This past winter a new electronic sign was installed at City Hall. Primary use of the electronic sign is for city event announcements, meeting notices and alerts. Affiliated community organizations wishing to display announcements are welcome. The sign will display one organization at a time for at least one week but no more than two weeks depending upon demand. Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to organizations that have not used space in prior three months. MINNESOTA LEGISLATIVE UPDATE
Cannabis Flower and Edibles : The City continues to monitor legislation and laws regarding the sale of Cannabis flower and edibles.
From Liquor Store Operations Manager, Mike Larson: “I believe that in order for our stores to remain relevant in the sale of controlled substances, we must explore and prepare for the possibility of operating a municipal cannabis dispensary. Industry data, as well as our own experiences at the stores, show that consumers are slowly moving away from products that contain alcohol and transitioning to non-alcoholic products and THC/CBD products. Customers are telling us about the benefits they receive from THC/CBD consumption like better sleep, and less medication for pain relief and anxiety. We expect the same response to cannabis flower and edibles. Sales of these products fall well within our mission statement of controlling the sale and generating revenue. We also believe we are well-suited to manage these legal products.” CONTACT: 612-782-3455 | mike.larson@savmn.com
