On April 4, 2019 St. Anthony Police joined together with multiple agencies to make a public commitment to the Ramsey County Sexual Assault Response Collaboration: Implementation Plan for System Change.
• Law enforcement will invite advocates to all investigative interviews with victim/survivors of sexual assault.
• Law enforcement will provide training for all patrol officers on sexual violence to promote a victim-centered response to reports of sexual assault.
• Law enforcement will conduct in-person investigative interviews with victim/survivors of sexual assault, following best practices for a trauma-informed approach.
• A better tracking system of sexual assaults will be created by law enforcement and prosecution so that cases do not slip through the cracks.
• Investigators and prosecutors will improve collaboration to increase numbers of cases charged in Ramsey County, bringing more perpetrators to justice.

About Our Department
The basic objective of the St. Anthony Police Department is the maintenance of Social Order within carefully prescribed ethical and constitutional restrictions, and includes prevention of criminality, repression of crime, apprehension of offenders, recovery of property, regulation of non-criminal conduct and the performance of miscellaneous services. While each of these is important and necessary to the operation of any police agency, individual communities differ as to the importance placed on each segment of service.
Since we are a service-oriented entity, we must be aware of the social pressures existing in our particular community and modify or adapt our techniques in response to these pressures. We must constantly attune our goals to our community's concerns and seek to find/elicit those concerns. We are law enforcement oriented and must constantly strive for uniformity amongst officers, in addition to professionalism on an individual and department level.
Our Department places an added emphasis on public service, public relations, juvenile relations, and crime prevention. The emphasis must be present in all our police activities on a day to day basis, and apply equally to all citizens. We must seek to provide a personalized service to our residents in the interest of effective public and juvenile relations.
While larger communities enjoy the luxury of specialization among its officers, our department members must be proficient in all phases of police service.
We must constantly strive to accomplish our mission on an individual basis and as a team member of the department and let us do it in a manner that will bring credit to the police profession, our department, and our community.
The St. Anthony Police Department has a total of 20 sworn officers, 2 full-time civilian staff, and 1 full-time Community Service Officer. Additionally, the Department has 14 Reserve Officers. The Department also provides police services for the city of Lauderdale on a contractual basis.
*The St. Anthony Police Department will no longer distribute police patches to patch collectors. Patches are official symbols of the Department, paid for by taxpayers. The cost of patches, postage and time are prohibitive. For these reasons, we are unable to honor requests for shoulder patches.
